About the Event

Age Limit: Everyone is welcome! Duration: 2 hours Auditorium opens: 18:30 | On stage: 19:00 Marmorfoajén and Guldfoajén open from 18:00 Crash. Laugh. Repeat. Humor as a Tool When Everything Falls Apart With humor, research, and laughter exercises, Karin Adelsköld shows how we can rise again when life falls apart — and even dare to laugh at our most difficult experiences. Laughter can be the difference between collapsing and getting back up. It reduces anxiety, lowers stress, and helps us cope with everything from everyday irritations to life’s greatest crises. But how do we actually find humor when life feels at its darkest? In the lecture “Crash. Laugh. Repeat.”, Karin Adelsköld — journalist, stand-up comedian, and author — offers a unique combination of science, humor, and personal experiences from both the spotlight of the stage and the tougher chapters of life. With self-awareness, sharpness, and great warmth, she demonstrates how humor can become a powerful tool for regaining balance, perspective, and joy. For nearly 15 years, Karin has immersed herself in humor research while also living through burnout, mental health challenges, and addiction. She has written several books, most recently about her alcohol addiction in “Det är tungt nu” (Bonniers, 2025). In her most personal book to date, Karin Adelsköld shares an honest, vulnerable, and darkly humorous account of the years when alcohol took over — in the midst of a life that, on the surface, seemed to shine. A moving story about love, codependency, success, and downfall — but also about hope, courage, and the path toward sobriety, where laughter became a way out. The audience will gain: Scientific insights into why laughter is so powerful for the brain and body. Practical tools for using humor in everyday life, at work, and in relationships. Personal stories, laughter exercises, and a reminder that we are never alone in our crashes. This is more than a lecture — it is an experience that moves, inspires, and entertains. A journey from rock bottom to the top, where laughter is not just an escape, but a key to change and renewed joy. Karin reminds us that we cannot avoid life’s crashes — but we can choose how we face them. And sometimes, the way forward begins just like this: a crash, a laugh, and repeat.
