You could say Gagn plays folk music but that does not quite do the music justice. The unbound imagination and the not-so-dance-friendly rhythms suggest something else entirely. Still, a warm welcome awaits anyone joining them on a journey like no other. Gagn was formed as a concept in 2023 in Malmö, and over the past few years the members have found each other and pushed the project forward. With an EP and release concert, they introduced themselves to the world in May 2025 with their debut concert at Malmö Hus Castle. From the valleys of Dalarna and the forests of Värmland, melodies are guided by Småland harmony and rhythms from Delhi.
The language of music and the power of will have now brought them together to share something none of them can escape in life. Gagn focuses on the red thread of fate and belief in the path they have chosen to walk together.
Being wild is traditionally seen as something violent or dangerous; Gagn argues it is the opposite of being locked in. Forged from safe folk traditions and customs, swords have now been drawn to ward off anything that does not serve them - the maturity to do your own thing, the struggle not to be envious, and respect for the ship they are all sailing together.
The doors to Palladium open at 11 am every festival day. Arrive in good time, settle in, and enjoy something from the bar. Expect an atmospheric start with lovely music.
