Featuring newly written Christmas music woven in among mulled wine and Christmas ham, old traditions meet fresh new sounds. Joining Amanda are some of Scandinavia’s finest musicians: her longtime collaborator and co-writer Filip Ekestubbe on piano, Snorre Kirk on drums and Niklas Fernqvist on double bass. Expect an evening filled with Amanda’s trademark observations on everyday life and infectious swing - wrapped in glittering Christmas decorations and the scent of a saffron bun wafting from the subway kiosk. “I wouldn’t describe myself as particularly traditional, but when it comes to Christmas music, I’ve realized that I rarely venture beyond the familiar,” says Amanda. “But we need Christmas music that reflects the times we live in and the traditions we have today. Music that awakens more than just our nostalgic side.” With two Swedish Grammys and a unique ability to put into words the everyday experiences shared by herself and so many others, Amanda has become one of Sweden’s most beloved jazz voices. Rooted in the Swedish singer-songwriter and jazz tradition, she creates music that feels both fresh and familiar at the same time.
