In this diploma recital at Palladium, Trio Lingo presents works by Lili Boulanger and Beethoven alongside The Restless, a contemporary piano trio by Villads Littauer Bendixen. Running time: 90 minutes The Salon: 6:40 PM | Concert starts: 7:00 PM Bar and Bistro open: 6:00 PM Trio Lingo presents a programme featuring Lili Boulanger’s D’un soir triste and D’un matin de printemps, Ludwig van Beethoven’s Piano Trio “Archduke”, and The Restless, a contemporary piano trio by the ensemble’s violinist, Villads Littauer Bendixen. Allegro moderato About The Restless Villads’ composition is based on the play De Hvileløse (2001) by Eva Littauer, which tells the story of a family’s formation and brutal downfall in three scenes. The instruments represent the play’s three characters. Although the characters have different names in each scene, they portray the same roles: the embittered man (cello), the depressed wife (violin) and the young, restless son (piano). Trio Lingo Simen Kraggerud - piano Villads Littauer Bendixen - violin Lara Biancalana - cello Villads Littauer Bendixen (b. 2001) is a Danish violinist and composer. He is currently pursuing a diploma at the Malmö Academy of Music. He began his studies in Småland and continued his education in Berlin, where from 2011 to 2020 he was a guest student at the Hochschule für Musik “Hanns Eisler”, studying with Michael Erxleben and Zoya Nevgodovska, alongside his studies at the C. Ph. E. Bach Gymnasium. After studying at the Barratt Due Institute of Music in Oslo, he continued at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen, studying with Nikolaj Szeps-Znaider and Peter Herresthal. He is currently enrolled in the Artist Diploma programme at the Malmö Academy of Music, studying with Jörgen Svensson. As a violinist, he has participated in masterclasses with renowned musicians including Vilde Frang, Milan Vitek and Dora Schwarzberg. As a composer, he studies with Bent Sørensen. He has received several prizes in international competitions, including second prize in DR’s Vidunderbørn, a gold medal in Berlingske Tidende’s classical music competition, and first prizes at Hungarian Games and Jugend musiziert. With Trio Lingo, he has also received third prize at the Rued Langgaard Competition and a multi-year scholarship from the Lysgaard Foundation. Villads has performed as a soloist and chamber musician throughout Europe and the United States and has served as concertmaster with, among others, the Polstjärnepriset Symphony Orchestra at Berwaldhallen and the C. Ph. E. Bach Youth Orchestra at the Konzerthaus Berlin. He regularly performs at leading venues across Denmark. His artistic profile is defined by a strong commitment to contemporary music. Alongside his performing career, he also teaches at international courses and festivals.
