This is where, for example, Carola rose to fame with “Främling” at the 1983 Swedish Melodifestivalen. The stage has also welcomed legendary performers such as Jussi Björling and Alice Babs, as well as the comedy duo Laurel and Hardy (Helan och Halvan). Following a major renovation, the venue reopened in 2004 as a centre for music and dance. Today, its activities continue under the direction of cultural event organiser Next Events. Much of the original interior has been preserved, including the impressive crystal chandeliers, ceiling paintings and the magnificent Golden Foyer. A perfect experience for anyone looking to combine culture, history and architecture with something truly unique in Malmö.
