It was here, for example, that Carola rose to fame with “Främling” at the 1983 Swedish Melodifestivalen. The stage has also welcomed legendary performers such as Jussi Björling and Alice Babs, as well as the iconic comedy duo Laurel and Hardy. Following a major renovation, the venue reopened in 2004 as a space dedicated to music and dance, and today its activities continue under the direction of cultural events organiser Next Events. Much of the building’s original interior has been preserved, including its impressive crystal chandeliers, ceiling paintings and the magnificent Golden Foyer.
