It was here, for example, that Carola rose to fame with “Främling” at the 1983 Swedish Melodifestivalen. The stage has also welcomed legendary performers such as Jussi Björling and Alice Babs, as well as the iconic comedy duo Laurel and Hardy. Following a renovation, the building reopened in 2004 as a venue dedicated to music and dance. Today, its activities continue under the direction of cultural events organiser Next Events. Much of the original interior has been preserved, including the impressive crystal chandeliers, ceiling paintings and the magnificent Golden Foyer.
